Description
A Poetic Docufiction. Over three fever-dream nights in the Hotel Biron of Paris 1908, poet Rainer Maria Rilke encounters the ghost of his good friend, the artist Paula Modersohn-Becker, who died shortly after giving birth to her first child. Rilke surfaces from this haunting by composing his epic lament, "Requiem for a Friend", as a tribute to Paula. The Greater Circulation is a cinematic treatment enacting the central drama of Rilke's prose of a woman caught between sacrificing herself to her Art or her life to Motherhood.
